This work is a form of advanced personal development for neurodivergent adults

It's not mental health counseling/therapy or social skills training, nor is it designed to support needs or challenges related to employment, housing, or healthcare.

It IS a methodology for developing a cultural identity and communication practice that supports the kind of needs that correlate with scores of 71 or above on the Global Assessment of Functioning.

About Neurocultural Wildscape work, specifically

In addition to re-framing neurodivergent deficits as cultural differences, this work may involve occasional processing of grief, frustration, or sadness. This can happen when we do work that reframes previously-pathologized aspects of self, when we challenge dominant power structures, or learn methods to imagine better futures- all work we do in the Neurocultural Wildscape.

We assume that participants in these workshops are able to get additional support if needed.

About Communication Sovereignty work, specifically

At the core of Communication Sovereignty is the development of a communication practice that teaches you to (gently) negotiate or redefine communication expectations or norms.

This kind of work requires some degree of status or power in a communication scenario, and thus is a best fit for people who feel not just comfortable, but confident that they can experiment and effectively weather the occasionally unsuccessful results of messy communication.

But what about people with less privilege, resources, or stability to engage in this work?

Great question! It's one I care about deeply and have spent much time thinking about.

One of the biggest problems I've seen in approaches to neurodivergent communication is the totally imbalanced expectation of change or adaptation that's put on neurodivergent people. The best way that I know how to do this work, especially at the start, is to work with the side(s) of cross-neurotype communication encounters that have the most power to effect change- in other words, neurodivergent adults as described above, and providers/leaders of all neurotypes (this work coming soon).

As I continue to develop my work, I will look for ways to share these skills and transformation with other groups as well, as safe and appropriate opportunities and/or qualified collaborators present themselves.

For providers & leaders

(of all neurotypes)

As I described above, I will have future offerings for providers and leaders in the two areas of work I do- Neurocultural Wildscape and Communication Sovereignty work. I will add links here as those become available.

In the meantime, you can read my posts (which will still deliver value for you) and get updates by subscribing to my email list below.
